Humans and The Natural Environment
Below
is an excerpt from the Preserving Health DVD
Wind
“Wind” is the origin of many kinds of diseases. It intrudes
through the skin and usually affects the upper part of the human
body first. If the body is exposed to cold draughts with high
humidity, it may result in joint and muscular aches, headaches,
dizziness, etc. If exposure is over a long period of time, day
after day, many diseases can result. Rheumatism is one of
them.
As early as 2000 years ago, the Chinese had already discovered
there is direct connection between rheumatism and a cold wind
associated with dampness.
It is easy in a windy season to find some people suffering common
cold, earaches, headaches, dizziness as well as stiffness and
pain in the shoulder and neck. Some chronic diseases like asthma
and epilepsy may have their onset in such a season. Also, ‘wind’
may predispose people to some skin diseases.
